INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY

(a) Check the blower switch resistance.

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Tester Connection	Blower Switch Position	Specified Condition
2 (LO) - 3 (HI) - 4 (M2) - 6 (BGND) - 7(M1)	Blower switch: OFF	10 KО© or higher
2 (LO) - 6 (BGND)	Blower switch: LO	Below 1 О©
2 (LO) - 6 (BGND) - 7 (M1)	Blower switch: M1	Below 1 О©
2 (LO) - 4 (M2) - 6 (BGND)	Blower switch: M2	Below 1 О©
2 (LO) - 3 (HI) - 6 (BGND)	Blower switch: HI	Below 1 О©

If the result is not as specified, replace the air conditioning control assembly.

(b) Check the operation.

(1) Apply battery voltage across terminals 14 (IG+) and 1 (GND).

(2) Connect the positive (+) tester probe of a voltmeter to terminal 2 (AMSW) and negative (-) tester probe to terminal 1 (GND), then check the voltage.

Standard Voltage:

Angle (Position)	Specified Condition
0В° (MAX A/C)	0 to 0.4 V
120В°	6.3 to 7.2 V
240В° (MAX HOT)	13 to 13.5 V

If the result is not as specified, replace the air conditioning control assembly.

(1) Apply battery voltage across terminals 14 (IG+) and 1 (GND).

(2) Connect the positive (+) tester probe of a voltmeter to terminal 3 (MSET) and negative (-) tester probe to terminal 1 (GND), then check the voltage.

Standard Voltage:

Angle (Position)	Specified Condition
0В° (FACE)	13.3 to 13.5 V
60В° (B/L)	10.1 to 11.0 V
120В° (FOOT)	6.3 to 7.2 V
180В° (FOOT/DEF)	2.5 to 3.4 V
240В° (DEF)	0 to 0.2 V

If the result is not as specified, replace the air conditioning control assembly.

(d) Inspect the illumination.

(1) Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 6 (ILL+) and negative (-) lead to terminal 9 (ILL-), and check that the illuminations comes on.

OK:

Illuminations comes on.

If the result is not as specified, replace the air conditioning control assembly.
